Yowamushi Pedal Movie, bicycle road race anime done right

Yowamushi Pedal Movie is an original story of Yowamushi Pedal that takes place after Yowamushi Pedal GRANDE ROAD. This movie was aired from August 28, 2015. For now, it appears I am the first and the only one to make a review of this anime movie in MyAnimeList. Pretty much because the BD hasn’t yet released so people from outside of Japan still haven’t watched it.

My impression with this movie is filled with positive impressions. It’s what a bicycle road race should be. The TV series has a lot of flashback scene during the race which makes things feel kinda boring. Fortunately, the story in this movie focuses on highlights of the race all the time. It makes the race scene more interesting and more awesome. Now, we can focus on the race much better. Oh yeah, the race is also more sportive! Check out the official trailer on Youtube.

Yowamushi Pedal, the joy of bicycle road race

Yowamushi Pedal is an anime about bicycle road race. The idea is very original and interesting and the story is quite inspiring. There are two Anime TV series adapted from the manga, two movies that serves as the summary of the two TV series, and one movie that serves as the sequel of the TV series. I’ve watched the TV series and the sequel movie, but I’ll only talk about the two TV series here. The first TV series is titled Yowamushi Pedal, aired from October 7, 2013 to July 1, 2014 with total episode of 38. And the second TV series is titled Yowamushi Pedal GRANDE ROAD, aired from October 6, 2014 to March 30, 2015 with total episode of 24. The studio behind these two anime is TMS/8PAN. The total number of episode is 72 which makes this anime really long. The longest anime I’ve watched until recently. This anime has much to tell but the pace is very slow. It’s a double-edge sword. Makes things interesting, draw your curiosity, but also boring. Due to the number of characters, this post is quite long and might be boring.

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, an impressive story with almost nothing else comes close

In short, Ano Hana. Is an 11 episode TV Anime aired in 2011. To be more specific, from April 14, 2011 to June 23, 2011. An anime movie was also released on August 31, 2013 serving as final summary and also an epilogue to the TV series. The story is written by Okada Mari. From the deepest part of heart, it’s a masterpiece-class story, meaning the story is truly impressive, truly amazing, truly awesome, and truly wonderful. Excellent is not enough to describe how great the story. It’s so deep. Impressed my heart almost in the same level as Natsuiro Kiseki. From all anime I’ve ever watched, Ano Hana has the second best story. My review here covers both the TV series and the movie.

The story has friendship theme on it but a different one. Something I would like to call, “Shattered Friendship”, the same theme as Natsuiro Kiseki. The story focuses on 6 main characters, with 2 of them acting as the central. The 2 central characters are Yadomi Jinta (Jintan) and Honma Meiko (Menma). The other 4 characters that take roles of secondary main characters are Anjou Naruko (Anaru), Matsuyuki Atsumu (Yukiatsu), Tsurumi Chiriko (Tsuruko), and Hisakawa Tetsudou (Poppo). All of them are close friends in their childhood. They called their gang “Chou Heiwa Busters”. However, Menma was died in an unfortunate incident which indirectly involved the others. Years later, the rest of them are in high school. But now, all of them have changed and their friendship are shattered. Continue reading

Busou Shinki Moon Angel, a young boy’s dream to become a Shinki Master

Cover
Busou Shinki Moon Angel is an ONA (Original Net Animation) published from September 7, 2011 to January 26, 2012. The anime consists of 10 episodes and each episode is less than 5 minutes. The story is not directly related to Busou Shinki TV Anime aired in 2012. In fact, the only relation between the two is the Shinki. I see no other relation than that.

Looking at two different Intel Wolfdale. A slight upgrade for my HTPC.

So, I was busy with my HTPC trying to keep the power consumption as low as possible but doesn’t want to sacrifice the performance too much. At least it can handle 1080p 10bit video. I know that 4K is more future proof. However, the lack of 4K contents for now makes me think twice to purchase the parts needed, Continue reading

Busou Shinki, a different kind of daily life anime

Busou Shinki is a product line of armored action figures manufactured by Konami Digital Entertainment. The first product was released in Japan somewhere in 2006. The products themselves are designed by many popular Japanese artists, including Shimada Humikane who is well-known as the creator of Mecha Musume. Many product models were released since its first released since 2006. Several video games about Busou Shinki were also released since 2007 following the popularity of the product itself. That is the short preview about Busou Shinki.

Busou Shinki TV Anime was aired from October 5, 2012 to December 21, 2012. The total number of episode is 12. In addition, there is 1 OVA released later in June 26, 2013 serves as the prologue and epilogue of the TV Anime. I doubt this anime was successful due to the weak rating. However, my opinion about this anime remains positive. The anime managed to capture my interest due to its storyline.

Girls und Panzer was aired from October 9, 2012 to March 25, 2013. The total number of episode is 14, with 12 episodes of main story and 2 recap episodes. Due to production delay, the 2 final episodes was aired in March 18 and March 25 2013. In addition, there are one OVA released in July 5, 2014. Other than that, we also got a movie released later in 2015. This post only covers my thoughts for the TV series and OVA.

The story takes place in alternate universe where Tanks used as sports competition. So, the story is not about war but about sports competition. Back then, I was reluctant to watch this anime because I mistook the story as a war story. Fortunately, it is not. It’s quite lightweight, entertaining, and inspiring. The sports where people (specifically, girls) compete with their tanks is called Sensha-dou, literally means “The Way of the Tank”. The story will follow the activities of girls in Ooarai Female High School with Nishizumi Miho as the lead character. Miho is not alone of course. There are so many characters in this anime. Watashi ga Motenai no wa Dou Kangaete mo Omaera ga Warui!, so bad yet so good

Watamote - Title
Another anime produced by Silver Link. The title in short, Watamote. This anime really has a very long title. Even until write this post, I still can’t quite remember the full title. This anime was aired from July 9, 2013 to September 24, 2013 with 12 total episode. We also got an OVA later released in October 22, 2014.
The story focuses on one character only, Kuroki Tomoko. The story starts when Tomoko enter high school. It focuses on Tomoko’s daily activity, mostly about how difficult she tries to make a change in her life as a high school girl. It’s not a happy. In fact, it feels kinda sad. I really feel sorry to Tomoko, even more than what I felt for myself. She gets a hard time to communicate with other people outside of her house. However, that is actually the main jokes in this anime. It’s a comedy anime after all. Most of the time, you won’t be disappointed with the story. Continue reading

Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru, the burden of being a hero

Yuuki Yuuna - Title
Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru is an anime with fantasy, action, and magical girl theme. This anime was aired from October 17, 2014 to December 26, 2014 with the length of 12 total episode. The anime is the sequel of Novel Washio Sumi wa Yuusha de Aru which was already released earlier in 2014.

My impression with this anime is mostly filled with hatred. I tried the elements of surprised by not looking for anime information at all about this anime. However, I don’t like the concept. I watched this anime because Uchiyama Yumi and Mimori Suzuko are in the main cast list but this anime failed to impress me mainly in story. While I was satisfied with the ending, Continue reading

Non Non Biyori, a peaceful story in countryside

NonNonBiyori-Title

Non Non Biyori is an anime about daily life (or slice of life). The anime takes place in a Asahigaoka. There are 4 main characters in the anime and of them are females. The TV anime was aired from October 8, 2013 to December 24, 2013 with 12 total number of episode. It also has 1 additional episode on OVA which was released at July 23, 2014.

My impression about the story is very peaceful but also very entertaining. The 4 main characters attend the same school and same class but all of them are actually on different grades. It might sounds weird for you but that is something you might find on remote locations in Japan. Continue reading
